  • Chairman of the Nineth Governing Council of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Hon Diran Ayanbeku has charged the newly inaugurated members of the board to collaborate with Osun State Government in ensuring quality and standard education that will contribute to the growth and development of the country.

    Hon Diran Ayanbeku stated this, while inaugurating members of the Nineth Governing Council of the institution on Friday.

    Speaking at the programme held at the Governing Council building of the institution, the chairman of the nineth board, attributed the achievements recorded in the last few months to the proactive understanding and progressive minded members of Management and staff of the institution.

    According to him, the state government is providing purposeful leadership as well as unparalleled administrative skills at turning things around in the state.

    Appreciating the laudable steps of governor Ademola Adeleke for appointing well experienced and professionals as members of the Night Council of the Polytechnic, Hon Ayanbeku expressed confidence that the Institution would record tremendous development.

    Earlier in his welcome address, the Acting Rector of the Institution, Mr Kehinde Alabi who was flanked by members of the Top and Extended Management of the institution said, the citadel of learning has achieved various developmental and innovative programmes which has helped the institution to be above its pears in Nigeria.

    The Acting Rector disclosed that the institution has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka for the running of Degree programmes in Vocational and Technical Education .

    He added that the institution is putting all proactive mechanisms in place for possible affiliation with the University of Ilorin for running of about 10 degree programmes in the Osun State Polytechnic Iree.
    Mr Alabi expressed the readiness of his Management team to collaborate with the Council to build the Institution to an enviable status aming its peers.

    In their various remarks, members of the council unanimously affirmed their readiness to partner with the Chairman, the Acting Rector and entire Management of the institution to further uplift the educational and infrastructural development of the Institution, while moral rejuvenation and academic excellence would be given a priority.

    Members of the Nineth Governing Council of the Osun State Polytechnic Iree who were swore in by the chairman were; Honourables Sunday Ogundiji, Aderemi Idowu, and
    Lateef Amoo.

    Others included; Dr David Ogunsade, Otunba Gbenga Olatokun, and Chief Sunday Adebiyi,
    Honourables Aderinola Awodele, Ademola Opadola, and the National President of Ospolyiree Alumni, Alhaji Yakub Akeem Adebayo.

    The Acting Registrar of the institution, Prince Abiodun Oloyede who lauded the credentials of composition of the Council members thanked members of the Polytechnic community for their unalloyed supports to management of the Institution in the recent time, assuring the Council that they would experience peaceful tenure in the Polytechnic would be students as well as other polytechnic .

    Highlight of the program was the facility visit of the governing council members to all studios, laboratories and structures of the Institution

  • *Says 30th November is last day for payment of Acceptance Fee

    Management of Osun State Polytechnic Iree has declared that the first batch of admission list of applicants into the 2023/2024 Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme of the Institution has been released.
    A statement from the Acting Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Abiodun Oloyede urged applicants for the HND Programmes to check their admission status on website of the Institution so that they would be able to pay their Acceptance Fee before 30th November, 2023.

    The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public, especially candidates who applied for admission for the HND programme of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree that the first batch of admission list for the programme has been released.

    “Consequently, all concerned candidates are to proceed to ospoly.edu.ng to accept the offer of provisional admission upon the payment of their acceptance fee.
    The statement explained that any admitted candidate who refuses to pay the acceptance fee before the stipulated date may forfeit the offer of admission.

    “Any candidate who refuses to accept the offer of provisional admission on or before 30th November, 2023 shall be deemed to have forfeited the offer of admission and those on the waiting list shall be considered,” the statement said.

  • The leadership of Ilare Development Association (IDA) has congratulated the Asiwaju of Ijesa land on his 68th Birth Anniversary.


    A statement by President of the association, Mr Samuel Fabunmi said “we congratulate our dear friend and brother, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, The Asiwaju of Ijesa Land on his 68th birthday. Asiwaju Fasuyi is an illustrious son of Ijesa land , an amiable personality, humane, humble and Godly.   • The Acting Rector, Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Mr. Kehinde Alabi, has showered encomiums on the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institution, Honourable Diran Ayanbeku, as he celebrates his birthday today.


    Mr. Alabi in a congratulatory message he personally signed described the former Chairman, Ife South Local Government, as a trust worthy person, a quintessential politician, erudite scholar and intelligent individual who was anointed by God to contribute his quota to vocational and technical education in Nigeria through the polytechnic.


    The statement reads in part: “On behalf of the Management, Staff and Students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, the Ag. Rector, Mr Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, congratulates the indefatigable Chairman of our Governing Council, Hon Diran Ayanbeku, a quintessential political gladiator, a grand administrator and human resources manager, resourceful and passionate man, who places other people’s love beyond his personal interest, on the occasion of his birthday.


    “Hon. Ayanbeku is an erudite personality, whose love for education has had great impact on the Institution within his short term in office as the Chairman of the Institution’s Governing Council.”


    The Acting Rector noted that Honourable Ayanbeku’s contributions were graciously noted during his tenure as the Chairman of Ife South Local Government, Ifetedo, Osun State during which the Local Government had unprecedented transformations in it’s socio-educational development.


    Mr. Alabi also enthused that the Institution’s Governing Council Chairman also depicted his political gladiations during his service in the State House of Assembly.


    “The chairman also depicted his patriotic contributions to Osun State during his tenure as Chairman of Ife South Local Government and as a law maker in the State House of Assembly,” the statement stated.

  • The Acting Rector, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Mr Kehinde Alabi, has said that the death of a former Chairman, Committee of Deans of the Institution, Dr. Donald Rotimi Ogungbade, was a rude shock to the Polytechnic Community.

    Mr. Alabi described him as a very resourceful person who contributed meaningfully to the development of the Institution, especially in his area of study, Business Management and Marketing.

    The Acting Rector noted that until his retirement from the services of the Institution about three years ago, he was a committed, hardworking and diligent lecturer who imparted positively on the lives of the students.
    Mr Alabi also described him as a role model and mentor to some members of the academic staff and many students in the polytechnic.

  • The Acting Rector, Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Mr Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi has described the Chief of Staff to Osun State Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye as a special breed created by God for the service of humanity.


    Mr. Alabi in a congratulatory message he personally signed said “Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, an illustrious son of Ede, is a philanthropist who dedicated his life to the service of humanity.


    “Alhaji Akinleye is a rare breed who has an uncommon and sterling features of loyalty, fervent dedication, love for humanity, honesty and passion for the poor”
    Mr. Alabi, who expressed his joy to felicitate the Chief Staff, recalled that he (Akinleye) demonstrated his sterling leadership prowess in the development of Ede North Local Government when he was the Chairman of the Council.


    He averred that “Ede North recorded unprecedented developments in terms of road construction, provision of portable water, improved health care services, promotion of the rich cultural heritage of Ede land and scholarship for teeming indigenes of the community”.


    The Acting Rector enthused that Alhaji Akinleye’s enviable characters have made him a role model and mentor to many people in the state. The Acting Rector particularly expressed his admiration in the trust and loyalty virtues of Alhaji Akinleye to his political god father, the first Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, of Blessed Memory, and the incumbent Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, whom he described as another political enigma that has brought succour to the people of the State.


    Mr Alabi prayed for good health and more fulfilled life for the Ede born political jugarnut.

  • Management of Osun State Polytechnic Iree has declared that the Computer Based Test (CBT) for applicants into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes of the Institution will hold Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 October, 2023.
    Just as the Post-UTME Physical Screening will come up between Monday 30th October and 3rd November.


    A statement by the Acting Registrar of the Institution, Mr Abiodun Oloyede states that the HND applicants are expected to purchase the CBT Screening Card of Three Thousand and Five Hundred Naira (N3500) only to register for the CBT Screening before 25th of October to enable them participate in the CBT.


    The Registrar explained that to register for the CBT, the applicants should log into: ospoly.edu.ng
    Click on student portal and pick continue application.
    Input your application number and password.
    Go to CBT payment module on your portal and continue as prompted.
    In a related development, all those who have applied or still willing to apply for the Post-UTME Screening for 2023/2024 admission of the Institution should come to the Admission Unit of the Institution between Monday 30th October and Friday 3rd November.
    The following are the schedules of the Post-UTME physical screening:
    DAY 1: Monday 30th October- Faculty of Information and Communication Technology
    DAY 2: Tuesday 31st October- Faculty of Science and Faculty of Industrial Arts & Design
    DAY 3: 1st November- Faculty of Engineering and Financial Studies
    DAY 4: Thursday 2nd November – Faculty of Management Studies, Faculty of Environmental Studies and Faculty of Vocational Education.
    DAY 5: Friday 3rd November- Others.
    The Applicants are expected to come with the original and photocopies of their O’Level results, JAMB Result Slip, Post UTME Form and two Passport Photographs.

  • A frontline political leader in Osun State, Prince Diran Odeyemi, on Wednesday charged Nigerian youths to shun all forms of immoralities ravaging the country in the recent time.


    Just as he enjoined them to nurture the sanctity of Yoruba culture and tradition.
    Prince Odeyemi stated this in Esa-Oke on Wednesday during the annual Ijesa Day Festival organised by the Federation of Ijesa Students Union (FISU) in Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.


    Prince Odeyemi, the chairman of the Institution’s Governing Council, lamented the spate of immoralities among the youths ranging from cyber crime, sexual escapes, corruption, indolence and other vices, said ” I enjoin you to move away from social iniquities that could abort your vision in life. You should strive to make use of the knowledge and skills you have garnered during your studentship. Try to be enterprising, you should be self reliant and employers of labour rather than job seekers. “
    Prince Odeyemi who was represented at the occasion by Dr. Tope Abiola also enjoined the students to embrace Yoruba culture and language. He noted that Ijesa is blessed with rich a wide range cultural heritage that are widely embraced internationally. He noted that the Ijesas are well known for fearlessness, truth and honesty. He urged them to make honesty, faithfulness and loyalty their watchwords.


    The event witnessed the conferment of a meritorious award of excellence on the Ijesa born political jugarnut.
    It was graced by distinguished indegines of Ijesa land in the Institution.
