  • Dated Back To 13th May, 2024, Former President of Nigeria and PDP bigwig, President Olusegun Obasanjo was quoted during the inauguration of a VIP lodge, an edifice located within the premises of Osun State Government House in Osogbo, “Don’t stop dancing and keep governing well” which is the testament to the good administration of Governor Adeleke.

Hon. Abass Olanrewaju Faruq(FOA) who was once a member of People Democratic Party before he decamped to All Progressive Congress in May 17th, 2024 was once sponsored by Governor Ademola Adeleke and receiving a huge amount of money to contest in the 2019 Osun State House of Assembly before being defeated by Hon. Adekunle Oyekunle Forum of the All Progressive Congress.

It’s an established fact that Governor Adeleke has performed excellently than any other Governor in the history of Osun State despite being called “DANCING GOVERNOR “, in the space of of two years of administration as Osun State Governor.

In response to a one time contestant of the Osun State House of Assembly in 2019, Hon Faruq Olanrewaju Abass(FOA) who sees the Governor as a mere Dancer but forgetting very vast that , Dance can be a powerful symbol in political communication, conveying emotions, values, and cultural identity. In some African cultures, dance is used to express unity, solidarity, and celebration, which can be leveraged by politicians to connect with their constituents . Governor Adeleke, being a Nigerian politician, might use traditional dances to showcase his cultural heritage and build rapport with his audience.

If not for his late Father, Alhaji Abbass that is one of our party leader in PDP during his lifetime, Faruq ABASS is not known in the politics of our local Government when he came in 2018 to have a political career.

It should be noted also that , he lost election as at 11am in 2019 which was the worst ever election PDP ever participate in. He has never participated in any election in Ejigbo Local Government until 2018 when he came and the ticket was handed over to him because of the antecedence of his father.

Faruq should know that Dance humanize politicians, making them more relatable and authentic. By showcasing their dancing skills, Governor Adeleke can demonstrate his ability to connect with ordinary people, transcending traditional politician-voter boundaries.

In some African cultures, dance is used to express unity, solidarity, and celebration, which can be leveraged by politicians to connect with their constituents . Governor Adeleke, being a Nigerian politician, might use traditional dances to showcase his cultural heritage and build rapport with his audience.

Governor Adeleke is a name that meant different things to different people. And the reason for this is no other than politics. Since Adeleke’s debut in electoral contest in 2017, those who are opposed to him have done almost everything to adorn him a garb that does not in anyway reflect his true personality.

His hobby, which is dancing, was seen as a weakness and not suitable for leadership position. But the mistake in that narrative was ignoring that a happy man will understand what it takes to make another man happy. And this has been the experience with  Adeleke in the leadership positions entrusted him so far.

Conclusively, Governor Adeleke’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling his promises to his people and prioritizing the welfare of government workers has earned him recognition as a leader who puts the interests of his people first. As Osun State continues on this path of progress, Governor Adeleke’s legacy of inclusive and sustainable development is set to leave a lasting impact on the state’s future.

Since the coming on board of the Senator Ademola Adeleke-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in Osun State, despite the usual bickering that characterizes politics, particularly among the ruling and opposition parties in Nigeria, there has been relative peace of mind in the state.
While many have argued that the governor had a water-tight plan of his own close to his chest before coming for the governorship position, there is no doubt that Governor Adeleke has surrounded himself with the very best of brains Osun State can boast of, in the onerous task of putting the state on the pedestal of verifiable development.

There is no way anyone can speak about the much-talked-about success of the Adeleke-led government without the state PDP chairman, Honourable Sunday Bisi, coming to mind.

Those who know him very well said Honourable Bisi cut his political teeth under the tutelage of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the Prince of Okuku, as Special Adviser on Environment.
A thorough red Ijesaman, Honourable Bisi made a remarkable statement when he returned as chairman of the party at its congress at the Osogbo township stadium. It was a resounding remark.
“When you have a united party, then, the governor will be able to concentrate; and there won’t be distractions. I will ensure that; and I will bring everybody into the party, so that we will be able to move the state forward.

“We know those that are behind our woes; those that are in court against this congress. I will only appeal to them to sheathe their swords and come back to join us to move Osun State forward. Those that went to court are not part of the success story of today.

“We had governorship, presidential and state Houses of Assembly elections; they did not participate. They are being used to draw us back. I appeal to them to join hands with us.
“I know what it takes to lead a party into government. I have done it before and I will do it again, by the grace of God. I am going to unite the party more; everybody will be on the same page under my leadership.

“People are happy in Osun State with what our governor is doing to the state. In less than four months, they have seen changes; salaries and arrears have been paid. And workers have been promoted,” he had said.

Speaking on the infrastructure development the state was embarking on, he said: “We had Workers’ Day here a few days ago. I have been in Osun for several years. I have not seen this kind of turnout before, because they trooped out en masse.”
Following his trajectory since his sojourn in the PDP as compass, many analysts have described the Osun PDP helmsman as a very dogged strategist when faced with achieving set objectives.

Besides, he is believed to be very loyal and honest to any cause he believes in as well as have the quality of being committed to service to humanity.
Apart from this, Bisi is held in many quarters as an incorruptible politician; he is not influenced by anything and he cannot be bought by whoever he thinks would not do the bidding of the masses of Osun State; he is always bothered by what has not been done to improve the lives of individuals. He is a thorough Ijesaman who shares the same spirit with the Ibokun born-Prince, Diran Odeyemi and the acolyte of Ijesa North politician, Right Honourable Oluwole Oke; service to humanity and community development are his watchwords.
Those who are close to the PDP helmsman have also said that he is highly endowed with uncommon intelligence to resolve issues that could metamorphose into crisis or which could destabilise the state.

This, it is common knowledge now that during the stormy period in the PDP in Osun State, Honourable Bisi had remained resolute and stood by the state governor, just in his characteristic manner. This is why he had refused to succumb to intimidations, embarrassments, persecutions and legal threats.
Just like Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the governor, stands as the Brain Box of the State of the Living Spring, Sunday Bisi is the mastermind and principal strategist for the peaceful administration of the governor under the party, the PDP. He always ensures that the string of unity and love in the party is not broken.

As a visionary leader, Honourable Bisi runs the party leadership with the spirit of egalitarianism.
With the Ilesa-born political juggernaut, it is evident that the PDP will continue to thrive in Osun State with tremendous achievements under the Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke’s governance.
In this wise, it is trite to highlight so e key actions Honourable Bisi has taken in the course of his piloting the affairs of Osun PDP to Eldorado.
You will recall that it was he who united all warring groups and aggrieved individuals in the Osun PDP.
As it is now, the PDP in Osun State is now a family. There is relative peace in the party.
Also, he engineers, monitors and personally supervises the Adeleke-led government’s projects in the state.

He is ensuring that political appointments in the state are not lopsided, as appointees are allotted credibly on merits of intellectual capacity, service to the party and zeal to work along with infrastructural and human development vision of the party.

Note also that Bisi’s ability to carve a niche for himself in the political administration is not only based on his wealth of experience, but also his humility and cultural orientation. This gives him the spirit of leverage with other political giants in the state.

Sunday Bisi has built a political hegemony for himself with millions of his faithful in the state whose political style of leadership has influenced positively.
    Happy Birthday Sir.
