The Lawmaker representing Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon Busayo Oluwole Oke has expressed confidence in the newly elected Chairman of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Sunday Bisi, saying the party has put a round peg in a round hole.
Hon Wole Oke in a congratulatory message he personally signed in his Osogbo home said all the newly elected officers of the party in the state are credible personalities who have the capacity to lead the party to a safe harbour.
Hon Oke recalled that Hon Sunday Bisi’s efforts in the past had been fruitful and laudable to produce the incumbent Governor of the state both at the primary level and general elections which made the PDP to record victory at the elections.
According to the Esa-Oke born political icon, “Hon Sunday Bisi is a very dogged political leader, who has impeccable character.He is a sincere party man. It is also good to seeing him surrounded by brilliant officers who can lead our party to victory at any point in time.
“Hon. Bisi’s efforts in the course for struggle to produce a visionary governor widely accepted by the teeming populace in Osun can not be forgotten in haste. I am confident that his leadership would take our party to higher heights in the state and beyond”, Hon Oke said. The Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts however called on members of the party in the state to declare their supports for the Hon Sunday Bisi led-administration in order to record success as expected by the party gladiators.
Honourable Oke commended the entire members of the party for the peaceful conduct of the Congress which produced a well-deserved leadership that will undoubtedly enhance the unity and progress of the party in Osun State.
The Lawmaker expressed confidence that Hon Bisi and his team possess the requisite capacity, experience and commitment to take the PDP to greater heights in Osun State. He urged them to work together and leverage on the vast reservoir of goodwill that the party currently enjoys in the state to consolidate its booming electoral fortunes.
Honourable Oke charged Mr Sunday Bisi to be magnanimous in victory and extend an olive branch to all aggrieved members of the party. He admonished him to run an inclusive administration that would give every member of the party a sense of belonging and create a level playing field for all.
He also called on other contestants into various party positions to join hands with the Chairman and his team to further redeem the state from the hardship meted on the people in the last twelve years of APC meaningless leadership in the state.

President-elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu has said he will not refund the cost of the flyovers constructed on the federal government’s road by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Tinubu made the comments on Wednesday in Port Harcourt while commissioning the 12th flyover constructed by Gov. Wike.
Wike had during his speech appealed to the President-elect to refund to Rivers State the cost of the projects done on the federal government’s road when he is sworn-in as President on May 29.
The governor said a letter requesting for the refund “has already been prepared” for the incoming governor of the state, Siminialaye Fubara which he will sign on assumption of office, asking the President to approve the refund.
But responding to Wike’s demands, Tinubu said he owed the governor nothing, noting that the roads were being used by Rivers people.
He said, “the 12 flyovers and the demands you made for refund l, I owe you nothing, it’s your road.
“You can’t chuckle at me and make a demand. You are the one using the road. I commend your effort. You have to lobby me.”
The Odole-Owa of Ilare-Ijesa, Osun State, Dr. Tope Abiola has disclosed that this year’s edition of Osu-Oja, otherwise known as Odun Ade will be held in a grand style in Ilare, headquarters of Obokun East Local Council Development Area, Osun State.
The Odole-Owa who is the spokesperson of the community and Chairman of the festival’s planing committee said series of activities have been highlighted for the programme which commences on Thursday 4th May.
According to him, ‘Gbadolofi Egigun Oba’ would come out by 5:00:pm to pay courtesy visits and prayers to the royal families, Chiefs and distinguished personalities in the town.
On Friday evening, a friendly football match would be played between youths in Odo-Oja and Oke-Eyindi quarters of the town. The High Chief Odofin Olumose Victor Busayo Adeniji is expected to be the Chief Host and Chairman of the competition, while the Obaala of Ilare, High Chief Oluremi Idowu Fatimilehin is the Special Guest at the competition, while all the Chiefs are among the spectators.
A statement issued by the committee stated that the grand finale of the programme would come up on Saturday 6th May, when the monarch who is the Chief celebrant of the Osu-Oja Festival, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adejoro Otebolaku JP, Ogidan III Olori Elu Eka-Osun, the Owalare of Ilare Kingdom would wear his acient traditional Ade Are beaded crown which he normally wears once in every three years to pray for inhabitants of the Ilare Community. The Committee explained that the Kabiyesi in a carnival-like manner would move round the town amidst pomp and pageantry to pray for residents of the town. The Kabiyesi, the committee maintained would be accompanied by all the Eka-Osun, his Chiefs, members of all the Royal families in the town with traditional drums to be lazed with ancestral lyrics and songs that would remind them of their direct migration from Ile-Ife as the oldest settlement in Ijesa land.
The release explained that the Owalare on a chariot with a kite would stop at main junctions in the town to pray for inhabitants of the town, who would have assembled with their cups of water and salt to receive the monarch’s prayers, while they could also express their appreciation with gifts of any kind; cola nuts, bitter cola, etc.
The Committee Chairman, enthused that Osu-Oja Festival is neither fetish nor idolism, but a celebration to remember the migration of the progenitor of the town, Ajalorun-Oro from Ile-Ife to their present settlement. It is also a day for the monarch to familiariase himself with his people and offer prayers for the land. It begins the planting season of various crops in the town as an agrarian community.
The Parish Priest of St Francis Catholic Church Ilare, Rev. Fr. Patrick Oladapo is expected to say the opening prayer by 8:00am before Kabiyesi is set out, while the Presbyter of the Methodist Church, Ilare would close the event with prayers in the evening. Other side attractions added to the programme of the day is the Ijo Irore by young damsels in the town and Ayo Olopon competition, which would be officiated by High Chief Ejemu, Olufemi Ogungbemi.

Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has declared that all hands are now on deck to host officials of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for resource accreditation of 17 new courses and re-visitation of two other courses in the Institution.
The Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Busari Salawu Esq disclosed this in a release made available to the media.
According to the Registrar, the Polytechnic is mounting these new courses as part of its aim to improve vocational and technical skills of Nigerian youths for the desired technological advancement of Nigeria. Barr. Salawu explained that the seventeen new courses both at National and Higher National Diploma levels would be presented for the resource accreditation, while two existing courses in the polytechnic would also have re-visitation exercise.
The programmes to be presented for the resource accreditation include; Arts &Design- Textile (HND); Arts & Design-Graphics (HND); Fashion & Design and Clothing Technology (ND); Building Technology (HND); Estate Management (HND); Quantity Surveying (HND); Urban and Regional Planning (HND). Others are; Procurement and Supply Chain Management (ND); Marketing (ND); Environmental Biology (HND); Bio-Chemistry (HND) Mechanical Engineering Technology (Automobile Engineering Technology option Manufacturing Engineering Technology option) (HND); Welding and Fabrication Technology (HND); and Agricultural Technology (ND), Library and Information Science (ND) and Architectural Design (HND). Those to be presented for re-verification are; Agric and Bio- Environmental Engineering Technology (ND) and Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology (ND). While expressing optimism about the success of the accreditation exercise, the Registrar stated that laboratories and studios of each of the programmes presented have been stocked with all necessary tools and equipment needed for pedagogical needs of the programmes.
As Muslims throughout the world celebrate the Eid Fitr today, the Rector, Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Dr Tajudeen Adewale Odetayo, has charged members of the Muslim community in the Institution not to relent in their fervent devotions and abstinence from sins.
Dr. Odetayo, in a release he personally signed, said “the 30 days of fasting and prayers were used for fervent devotions and service to God and humanity, when the Islamic devotees rendered their supplications to Allah for a renewed life and better living.” Dr. Odetayo noted that “it was a period when the people of God moved away from all forms of iniquities and immoralities in order to adequately devote their lives to Allah for prayers for Osun State, Nigeria and their individual intentions.”
The Rector enjoined the Islamic faithfuls not to relent in their good deeds and prayers for the polytechnic community and especially the State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nuruden Adeleke whom he said had improved the socio-economic and educational standard of the state within his short period of administration.
The Rector also promised to continue his spirit-filled governance in the polytechnic without any bias for religion or any form of nepotic considerations.
He prayed for peace in the Institution as he craved for excellence in character and learning .

The Lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon Busayo Oluwole Oke has congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Professor Taiwo Asaolu, describing the appointment as a round peg in a round hole.
Hon Wole Oke also thanked the executive governor of the state, Senator Ademola Jackson Nuruden Adeleke for considering the renowned Professor, an indigene of Esa-Oke, Obokun Local Government Area of the State as the Vice Chancellor of the University. He said, “Professor Asaolu is a versatile Academic with a very vast experience in University Administration and Management, whose administration as a former Dean in the Faculty of Social Science, Obafemi Awolowo University recorded tremendous feats in the history of the Institution.”
He assured the Governor that the Vice Chancellor would make the dream of stakeholders in the establishment of the University a reality.
The Lawmaker, while congratulating the Vice Chancellor enjoined him to follow the blue prints designed for the Institution with the aim of running a University that would produce specialists and vocational oriented graduates with excellence in academic and character.
He also enjoined the Chief Executive Officer of the University to imbibe a team spirit administration that would guarantee a smooth running of academic, human resources and administrative management of the Institution. Hon Oke assured the Vice Chancellor the unalloyed supports of the entire people of Ijesa land to his administration.
The Rector, Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Dr. Tajudeen Adewale Odetayo has congratulated the christian community in the Institution, charging them to emulate the inherent values in the passion of Christ. Dr. Odetayo in a release he personally signed described Easter as a celebration of repentance, reconciliation, forgiveness and a period for fervent prayers.
The Rector enthused that “the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is to save the world and strengthen us to emulate the virtues of Christ in our daily lives. It is therefore important for us to rebirth ourselves and put on new characters and new attitude to life.
“We must change for good, we must improve in our righteousness, assist one another and make prayers the pillar of our activities in life.”
Dr Odetayo, charged the people of God to use the period to pray for the Osun State Government, especially the State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nuruden Adeleke, in his bid to transform the socio-economic and educational status of the state. He noted that Governor Adeleke is a God sent angel to bring succour to the people of the state, just as Christ has come to redeem the world.
The Osunstartuphub a team of youngsters passionate at developing the startup ecosystem in Nigeria , particularly Osun state has announced the theme for the Osun Startup Conference 2023, scheduled to hold between 24th and 25th of May , 2023.
The team has announced that the theme for this year conference is “ The Pathway to Discovery “ as the first thing needed to birth a new norm of startup in the state is to tow a pathway to the discovery of workable ideas before any incubation of idea can happen. The team made the announcement earlier today after hosting the executive meeting and explained that this year edition will be focused on four key areas which are ; Startups , Technology, Real estate and career development “
The event is scheduled to hold in Osogbo between 24th and 25th of May 2023 and also host over One thousand youths in the state , thus making it likely to be the largest gathering of young professionals in the state. The event is scheduled to host four major panel sessions ranging from Panel discussion on startup Act , it’s impact and comparing to the prooosed osun startup Bill awaiting assent by the house , panel discussion on startups with a view to hearing from founders of successful startups about the go to methods in bringing their ideas to life , third is a panel session on technology, impacts and exploring options available and lastly real estate segment . Two lecture sessions are expected equally on Career Development and also the rudiment of a startup. These and many more are the package every attendee is expected to benefit from at the event.
