  • The Member, representing Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State in the National Assembly, Honourable (Dr.) Busayo Oluwole Oke (BOO) has sent a congratulatiory message to the newly appointed Chairman, of the Osun State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB),

    Honourable Ibukun Fadipe (IBK).
    Hon Wole described the appointment as a well deserved honour and appreciation of tenacious contributions of the Ilesa- born poolitical gladiator. He said the appointment by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke was a round peg in a round hole.

    Honourable Ibukun Fadipe’s appointment as Chairman of SUBEB came as no surprise, given his exemplary track records in public service and dedication to the development of the state. His selection, according to a release personally signed by Hon Wole Oke “is a testament to his competence, integrity, and commitment to transforming the educational landscape in Osun State.”

    Honourable Oke opined that Honourable Fadipe’s wealth of experience, combined with his passion for education, would bring about significant improvements in the quality of basic education in the state. He noted that “the Honourable Chairman’s appointment came at a crucial time when our educational sector requires strong leadership and innovative strategies to address the challenges faced by our students and teachers.”

    As a member of the National Assembly, Honourable Oke pledged his unwavering support to Honourable Fadipe and the entire Osun State Universal Basic Education Board in their efforts to enhance access to quality basic education across the state.
    He assured that he would work collaboratively with Honourable Fadipe and other stakeholders to ensure that the necessary resources and policies are in place to drive positive change in the State primary educational system.

    Honourable Oke commended Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for his astute decision in appointing Honourable Fadipe as the Chairman of SUBEB. “This appointment reflects the Governor’s commitment to promoting excellence, innovation, and equity in education, as well as his recognition of Honourable Fadipe’s remarkable contributions to the development of Osun State during his days as Executive Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government of Osun State.”

    Honourable Oke expressed his confidence in Honourable Fadipe’s ability to lead SUBEB effectively and efficiently, fostering collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and communities, to achieve the objectives of the Universal Basic Education program in Osun State.

    Honourable Oke however urged Honourable Fadipe to prioritize the welfare and professional development of teachers, as they play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future generations.

    ” Enhancing the capacity and motivation of teachers will undoubtedly yield positive outcomes in the delivery of quality education to our children”, he stated

  • The Head of Department of Mass Communication, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr. Tope Abiola has said that there is no crisis between staff and students’association of the department.

    Dr. Abiola stated that the Press Law examination question which was twisted by some misguided elements among the students was mischievous.

    He explained that the illustration given for the students in the said Press Law question was to examine the versatility and depth of knowledge of the students in practical terms of crime news reporting.

    According to him, “it was a test for the students to know how to avoid libel and slanders in the course of writing news stories.”  He described the purported allegation as a fallacy, while all the names used were “fictitious elements of coincidence.”

    He asserted that “Mr. Adekunle Sikiru whose name was mentioned is a brilliant upright, hardworking and forthright personality in the department,” saying that the practical illustration in the question was a test of knowledge which had earlier been exemplified in the course of study in the class.

    Also reacting, the President, National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS), Mr. Sogo Adedapo said, “there was no grudge between the Association and lecturers in the department.

    He noted that all students’ activities in the department are well monitored by Students RepresentativesCouncil and other stakeholders in the department. The question was an academic exercise that carried no mischievous intention.

  • The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved the mounting of 16 new courses for Osun State Polytechnic Iree.
    This followed the success recorded in the resource accreditation exercise conducted in the institution between 2nd and 5th May, 2023 where officials of the Board visited the institution to access the facilities and personel available for each of the courses.
    The officials discovered during the visitation that there are state of the arts equipment and erudite personel both academic and non-teaching staff that were preeminently qualified for the institution to mount the programmes.
    A statement signed by Architect Ngbede Ogoh, Director of Polytechnic Programmes on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Board and addressed to the Rector of the Institution stated that ” with reference to the Resources Inspection exercise carried out by the Board at your institution from 2nd to 5th May, 2023, I am directed to inform you that the Board has granted approval to your Institution to offer the following Programmes with effect from 2022/2023 Academic Session.”
    The programmes according to the statement are: HND Science Laboratory Technology (Biochemistry Option), HND Science Laboratory Technology ( Environmental Biology Option), HND),HND Mechanical Engineering Technology (Manufacturing Option), HND Mechanical Engineering Technology (Automotive Option) and Welding and Fabrication Engineering .
    Others include ND Marketing, ND Procurement & Supply Chain Management , ND Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, ND Library and Information Science, HND Arts and Design (Graphics Option), HND Arts and Design (Textiles Option), HND Building Technology, HND Quantity Surveying, HND Estate Management and Valuation HND Architectural Technology and HND Urban and Regional Planning.
    The Board also conveyed the approval of full accreditation to the ND Agricultural and Bio- environmental Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

    NBTE approves 16 new courses for OSPOLY

    While reacting, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Tajudeen Adewale Odetayo, who commended the NBTE for its objective assessment of the Institution’s facilities, expressed his unreserved gratitude for the approval given to mount the programmes. He assured the Board that all recommendations given on the courses would be noted and carried out for the smooth running of the programmes.

  • The Elites Club of Aagba, as part of the activities lined up for its 3rd Biennial Convention has donated 60 units of students furniture to the only secondary school in Aagba town.

    The Club has also provided fund for the recruitment of three teachers in the core science subjects in the school.The President of the Club, Otunba Obafemi Okediya, made this known during the official presentation of the items to the Principal, Staff and students of the School today, Friday 19th, May, 2023.

    While speaking at the event, Otunba Obafemi Okediya also lauded the Governor Ademilola Adeleke-led government in the State for the giant strides it has recorded in the infrastructural development of the State since the assumption of office as the Governor.

    Otunba Okediya declared that the gesture from the Club is to complement the efforts of the Ademola Adeleke administration in providing conducive learning environment in various schools in the state.

    While commending the Elites Club of Aagba, monarch of the town, His Royal Highness, the Alaagba of Aagba, Oba Rufus Olayinka Ogunwole prayed for members of the club. He urged other associations and individuals in the town to emulate the philanthropic gestures of the club members in the Aagba community.
    The Alaagba also commended Governor Adeleke on various developmental projects in the State.

    Also present at the programme was the Chairman, Aagba Development Council (ADC), Prince Banjo Odudare, among other dignitaries.
    The Elites Club of Aagba is a socio-cultural organization of prominent indigenes of Aagba town. The club was formed in 2017 with the objective of enhancing both human and infrastructural development of the town.

    In her remark, the Principal of the school appreciated the members of the Club for the good gesture in this difficult times She called on other eminent indigenes of the town to come to the aid of the school in the areas of rehabilitation of the dilapidated buildings in the school.

  • The Elites Club of Aagba, as part of the activities lined up for its 3rd Biennial Convention, will donate 60 units of students' furniture to the only secondary school in Aagba town tomorrow, Friday 19th May.

    A statement by the President of the club, Otunba Obafemi Okediya and made available to the press stated that it would be part of the philanthropic gestures of the club whose members are from various compounds of the town to encourage youths in the community in their educational pursuits.


    The President of the Club, Otunba Okediya, stated in the release that the furniture and other educational incentives would formally be presented to the Principal, Staff and students of the School by 10:00am tomorrow.
    The event, the release noted, would be witnessed by His Royal Highness, the Alaagba of Aagba, Oba Rufus Olayinka Ogunwole and the Chairman, Aagba Development Council (ADC), Prince Banjo Odudare, among other dignitaries.

    The Rector through a statement signed by Registrar of the Institution, Mr Busari Salawu Esq said ” within a short period of governance of Senator Adeleke i, Osun State, has witnessed unprecedented transformations.’

    The Rector noted that this is evident in the socio-infrastructural and educational developments being witnessed in the State of the Living Spring. He averred that many intra township and inter-township roads were being reconstructed, while dilapidated school buildings witnessed rapid renovations. He also noted that new buildings were being constructed.

    The Rector of the State Polytechnic particularly commended the Governor on the commencement of the payment of the outstanding half salaries and implementation of the promotion emoluments of workers in the State.
    Dr. Odetayo expressed confidence that the Polytechnic would receive accelerated developments in its academic and structural standards in the Senator Adeleke’s administration.

    He assured the Governor of the unflinching supports of the Polytechnic community to the Senator Adeleke’s people oriented government in the State, while praying that Almighty God would continue to shield and strengthen him in his quest to lift the State to greater heights.

  • All roads will lead to the ultra modern Hall of Prinaj Hotel, Resort and
    Suites in Ere-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government of Osun State on May
    13Th, 2023, where 5 illustrious sons and daughters of the town would be
    honoured with Meritorious Awards over their attainments in recent times.

    The male folks among them are Professors Olugbenga Akingbehin and
    Olusanjo Adewale, while their female counterparts are Comptroller of Nigeria
    Customs Service, Moronkeji Oke- Bewaji(Mrs) Assistant Comptroller General of
    Customs, Kikelomo Iyabode Ademola nee Ajao (Mrs)and Comptroller of Immigration Service Mrs.
    Abolupe Bewaji .

    While Akingbehin and Adewale are lecturers at the Faculty of Law of
    University of Lagos and Faculty of Science Obafemi Awolowo
    University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State respectively, the trio of Morenikeji Oluyemi Oke-Bewaji (Mrs)
    Kikelomo Iyabode Adeola(Mrs), and Bolu Bewaji are making waves in their
    para-military at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Nigeria
    Immigration Service(NIS).
    Speaking on their impending awards, Chairman of the Planning
    Committee, Adeleke Agbola, SAN said that the honour being bestowed
    on them was not only due to their recent elevation to high cadres of their
    career, but also for the way and manner they have uplifted the image of
    Ere-Ijesa precisely.
    “The entre indigenes of Ere-Ijesa are impressed and happy about the
    Awardees’ strides in their respective places of work and career, hence, the
    community decision to honour them as such,” he said.
    Mr. Agbola said that the award would not only spur them to achieve more,
    but also ginger other indigenes of Ere-Ijesa, especially the young ones to
    strive to be at their best in whatever calling they found themselves, knowing fully well that similar honour is awaiting whenever and
    wherever they excel.
    It would be recalled that the award being bestowed on these deserving
    sons and daughters of Ere-Ijesa is not the first of its kind in the history of
    Ere-Ijesa.

    In the time past, the duo of Professor Bukola Oyawoye and Dr Wale
    Bolorunduro were equally hosted and honoured at Ere-Ijesa, when they
    were both appointed as Commissioners in the Ministries of Environment
    and Finance to superintend the affairs by the administration of Governor
    Rauf Aregbesola in Osun State.
    Also, recently the duo of Bar. Adeleke Agbola, SAN and Dr Foluke
    Dada nee Lawanson were honoured for their
    accomplishments and contributions to the Ere-Ijesa community.


    While Agbola was honoured for attaining the prestigious title of Senior
    Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in the Law profession, Foluke was recognized
    by St. Stephen’s Anglican Church of Ere-Ijesa, when she was installed as
    the “Mother of Youth” (Iya Ewe).
    It must be noted that before Agbola , Ere-Ijesa had had the honour of
    producing another SAN, in person of Olusegun Adenipekun, who is
    currently holding forth as the Head of Afe Babalola Law Chambers in
    Ibadan, Oyo State and he was recognized by the then Elere of Ere-Ijesa ,
    Oba Noah Adekanye alongside another prominent indigene, Otunba
    Abiodun Ademola Aladekomo, the founder of Chams Group.


    The events of the day which include Thanksgiving Service at St. Stephen
    Anglican Church and a Grand Reception at Prinaj Hotel, Resort and
    Suites, Ere-Ijesa would be attended by crème de la crème in the society
    ably led by the Elere of Ere-Ijesa, Oba Augustine Alowolodu,
    distinguished sons and daughters of Ere-Ijesa and friends of the community.

    Hon. Wole Oke who was physically present at the Supreme Court in a message personally signed by him congratulated the Governor for emerging victorious over a long legal battle.

    “Today’s judgment has revalidated our Governor’s mandate and it has given credence to the free, fair and credible election won by Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke and PDP in the July 16th 2022 gubernatorial election. This Supreme Court ruling is a confirmation of both the perfect of will of God and the common choice of Osun populace, it also reinforces the love and confidence the good people of Osun State have in the governor to deliver good governance to his people,” the statement
    Hon Oke added that he is confident that governor Adeleke would not deviate from giving the people of Osun the desired dividends of democracy which had been deprived in the last twelve years of APC administration in the State.
    Hon. Oke urged the good people of Osun State irrespective of their political affiliations to come together and give the needed support to the God ordained Governor to move the state forward and actualize his Five Campaign Agenda to the good people of Osun State for rapid growth and development of the state.
    According to him, I call on the good people of Osun to support e governor in his bid to transform the State. I am confident that the Governor will transform the dwindling socio-economic and educational status of the State, which had been basterdized by the past administration.
